PivotTech: Nashville Partners Creating Access to Rewarding Careers

Nashville may be well known as the country music capital of the world, but it’s quickly transforming into an emerging tech hub. That is why we are proud to be partnering with PivotTech to bring tech education to underserved communities.

PivotTech is located in the heart of Nashville making waves with a vision to inspire Black Americans to discover rewarding new careers in tech. Co-Founders Joshua Mundy and Quawn Clark launched PivotTech in 2020 in order to provide a gateway to generate generational wealth for individuals who have been historically left out within their community. Mundy and Clark want to show Black Americans that there is a future in tech, one that can be both promising and prosperous for all.

“Joshua Mundy and Quawn Clark are the real deal. More than just building another tech school, they are passionate believers in the power of technical skill-based learning to empower systemic change for Black Americans to find financially rewarding and sustainable careers. We are both honored and excited to be supporting the work they are doing to bring about lasting change.” — Mitchell Robertson, VP of Business Code Fellows

Nashville may be well known as the country music capital of the world, but thanks to major tech giants like Amazon and Facebook, as well a growing number of startups in ethical fashion, med-tech (more than 500 companies in healthcare), and a plethora of startups targeting the music industry, it’s quickly becoming an emerging tech hub. This is why now more than ever it’s vital that partners like PivotTech are investing in helping underserved populations gain the skills necessary to benefit from this growth, rather than being left out.

Mundy and Clark are on a mission to get 300 underrepresented minorities trained and engaged in technology careers in 2021 through Pivot Technology School and we are more than excited to help them fulfill this mission and beyond.

Forging strategic partnerships with organizations like PivotTech that are invested in bringing about systemic change for underserved populations is what enables us to provide meaningful and life-changing education inclusively for all individuals.

At Code Fellows, it is our mission to empower organizations with our proven curriculum, instructional methodologies, and industry-leading expertise. We enable partners across the globe to offer rewarding tech careers that are oftentimes relegated to a privileged few. It’s our honor to come alongside partners like PivotTech to give them the curriculum, training and support they need to change the lives of the people who make up their community.

We want to ensure every community around the globe can provide the kind of education that unlocks this potential in every member of their community. We’ve witnessed the difference that immersive, collaborative, supportive, career-focused education can make in the lives of underserved individuals here in Seattle, and we want to ensure other organizations can bring the power of transformative education to their communities.

“This partnership means that our students will get cutting edge curriculum that will transform the lives of many for years to come!” — Joshua Mundy Co-Founder and CEO Pivot Technology School

Through Powered by Code Fellows, we find strategic partners in markets all around the globe who are looking to help individuals transform their lives through education. When we say, “We believe in you,” we’re not just talking about current Code Fellows students or the people right here in our city. We’re a global company focused on global needs so that more people can discover their potential in tech, begin high-paying careers in tech, and add diversity to the tech industry. A strong global tech industry needs the diversity of thought that comes from all of us working together to find better solutions to difficult problems. People with the potential to be world-class coders don’t just live in traditional tech hubs like San Francisco, New York, and Seattle; they’re all around the world.

To produce lasting change through tech education, it takes strong partnerships that are connected to—and invested in—their local communities; partners who are in it for the long haul, have “skin in the game,” and a vested desire to do what it takes to make a lasting impact.

This is why Code Fellows is proud to be partnering together with the PivotTech team as they invest in their local communities through forging strong partnerships, awareness and advocacy for change that will help produce generational wealth for so many who have historically been left behind.
